Collection: Blooming Tea

Blooming teas, or flowering teas, open up slowly when infused in hot water.

Blooming teas are both a tea and an art form.  They are made by binding tea leaves around a flower or collection of flowers.  The leaves are then dried into a bulb.  When steeped in hot water, the blooming tea will open slowly, in a fashion that echos how a flower blooms at dawn.  Best steeped at 95 degrees celcius, in a glass or clear pot, a single blooming tea will make full pot.  often, the bundles can be steeped several times.  Blooming teas in their current form were developed in Yunnan Province China, and became popular in North America in the 21st Century.
